the infamous Filipino language blasphemy gave birth to this blog!

Whew, after all this resistance through the social media years, and thanking Ramadan and our heroes for the long weekend...finally, my first-ever blog!!!

I just remembered, what could be a better term to use instead of first-ever? Pioneer, original, maiden? Parang hindi tumutugma sa aking panlasa, so I'll stick to first-ever.

In the meantime, let me share (again, nasusuya na ang mag-aattempt magbasa ng social media sites ko), credit to http://showbiznest.blogspot.com/2011/08/james-soriano-language-learning.html, for lighting up my desire to write. 

And, thank you James Soriano. You made me remember how I love the Filipino language. I'm a Cavitena, and similar to people who hailed from Batangas and Bulacan, we have a certain gift (or flair) of using the Filipino language. Syempre, Tagalog kami at noong unang panahon, kung hindi Kastila ang gamit na salita sa mga balagtasan, zarzuela, tula, atbp., Filipino ang gamit na wika.

So, let me just share what I posted in the said blogspot. Kanina galit talaga ako, but writing helps to calm the nerves (and probably to tire my eyes and fingers).

"May katotohanan na minsan, sa malayang pamamahayag, may mga batong nakakatama at nakakapanakit. Katunayan, inamin nga ni James Soriano na isa siyang halimbawa ng malansang isda.

Ngunit ang masakit dito, mas tanggap nyang maging bilasa kaysa hanapin sa sarili ang pagkukulang na mas aralin at pagtuunan ng pansin ang kakulangan niya sa Filipino.

Regardless of the lack of an effective mechanism to instill in our students the love for the Filipino language, as a Filipino national, it is our duty to find improvement and further explore the beauty of our national language. You can be critical of the education system, but do not blame the Filipino language being the language of the unlearned. 

Mali ang paghahalintulad ni James Soriano sa paggamit ng wikang Ingles bilang isang pribilehiyo--hindi ba dapat mas mainam kung naglayon siya na itaguyod pa ang wikang Filipino upang maging mabisang komunikasyon sa iba't ibang larangan? Kilalanin ang mga pagkukulang at magbigay-payo o solusyon para mapunan ito?

There could have been better constructive criticisms instead of hateful opinions; however, with this article comes a new discovery: despite the demand to use the English language, there will always be the undying support and pride for the Filipino language, which James Soriano has to learn through the hardest of ways."

Ayos! With better internet connection tomorrow (Typhoon Mina wag kang spoiler), I might post some pictures and make captions, and then share this blog to my sister, Len, (kasi ako lang yata ang reader ng kanyang Bonita blog, & vice versa).
